Kevin grew up with three distinct goals in mind:

1) Play hockey for and graduate from Michigan State University.

2) Play on the USA Olympic Hockey Team.

3) Play in the NHL.

Kevin was very fortunate to achieve all three goals:

He went to Michigan State from 1984 to 1988 and won the National Championship in 1986

Kevin graduated from MSU with a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in General Business in 1988

He was selected to represent the United States in the 1988 Olympics held in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

In 1988, Kevin began his NHL career with the New York Rangers. He played professional hockey for 17 years including 3 years in Switzerland. Kevin was told he would never play professional hockey because of his size, but hard work and determination proved the experts wrong.

Once Kevin acheived his youth goals he began to plan for life after hockey. Kevin has always been interested in business and the financial industry. Kevin's goal was to have his own successful Financial Services firm. In 1997, while still playing hockey for the Chicago Blackhawks he began preparing for life after hockey. Kevin spent many hours while on the road studying investments and the financial markets. Kevin, while still playing hockey, studied and achieved his Series 7 Securities License, and began work part time with Solomon Smith Barney, a full service financial service brokerage firm. After two years, again while still playing hockey, Kevin joined the institutional sales team at Cambridge Group Investments, ltd. where he worked his way up to VIce President of Institutional Sales. Kevin spent 5 years trading Agency, Corporate, and Municipal bonds to large institutions nationwide. Kevin retired from professional hockey in 2005. In 2006 he joined Further Lane Securities, L.P. in New York. At Further Lane, Kevin helped manage a new fund of funds hedge fund while still working with Institutional Bond clients. Kevin studied and obtained his Life and Health Insurance License in 2007. Kevin also spent time with the 401K industry leaders and expanded his offerings to include retirment plans. In 2008, Kevin decied to leave the hedge fund in New York and move back to his home town of Lansing to start his own financial service company. While starting a new business, Kevin decided to go back to school to increase his quaifications and set himself apart from most registered financial representatives. In 2009 Kevin finished and passed the rigourous Certified Financial Planning course and became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional . Kevin believes the long hours of studying to achieve the CFP® designation was very  important to his clients as it demonstrates the extent of his knowledge, ethics, and professional dedication.

Hard work and dedication helped Kevin achieve his goals. Kevin now loves working with his clients, both individuals and corporations,  to help them achieve their financial goals.
